Expressions of Interest - Ngāti Awa Group Holdings Limited Directors

Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Awa (TRONA) is the iwi authority for Ngāti Awa responsible for managing the collective affairs for its more than 22,000 uri. TRONA is the sole shareholder of Ngāti Awa Group Holdings Limited (NAGHL), its commercial investment company. We seek expressions of interest to appoint Directors to the NAGHL board. Directors usually serve a term of three years to align with the NAGHL constitution. Reappointment may be sought.

NAGHL's role is to prudently grow the iwi commercial assets to ensure an agreed return on investment and long-term sustainability. We have a diversified investment portfolio that includes tourism, horticulture, farming, fisheries, forestry, equities and property. We seek to appoint Directors with proven commercial and investment experience. We are committed to building and sustaining a high performing, gender inclusive and future focussed board. We welcome applications from suitably qualified and experienced commercial directors from across the motu.

The following are considered key attributes for NAGHL Directors:
➡️  Demonstrated experience in developing and driving innovative investment strategies for an iwi, Māori and/or wahine Māori owned commercial entities.

➡️  Understanding of the importance, value and potential of integrating tikanga Māori and iwi commercial activity.

➡️  Significant governance experience on relevant investment and commercial boards.

➡️  Demonstrated leadership in complex commercial environments.

➡️  Proven investment success that has generated strong financial returns.

➡️  An ability to leverage strong investment and business relationships for the benefit of Ngāti Awa.

➡️  High ethical standards.
